Inside Out Paintings, 2005
These four "Inside Out Paintings" are my first paintings made by recycling older paintings and reusing paint. After trying to attach old paint to the front these old paintings with new paint, I took them off their frames and re-stretched them so that the backsides became the fronts. Because I used cheesecloth, the new paint sticks through the cloth and the surface is semitransparent.

These are paintings about paint, exploring the physical properties of paint and paintings. At the same time, they are an attempt to reinvent abstract painting for myself by making paintings that are both abstract and conceptual in nature.
